James Sanders Jr. was elected to the New York State Senate on September 12, 2012. He represents the neighborhoods of South Jamaica, Rochdale Village, Rosedale, Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, Springfield Gardens and most of the Rockaways. During his time in the legislature, Senator Sanders has been a fierce advocate for working people, families and unions. Senator Sanders visited QPTV to talk about the needs and complaints of senior citizens in his district, and to make the public aware of various services and events that are created for constituents in Southeast Queens at different times throughout the year. He also highlighted programs that are offered to people of all ages like their Community Clergy Breakfast, the Artist Circle, and Sexual Assault Defense Training and Prevention.
