No. Many producers own their own equipment and provide QPTV with completed shows that we cablecast. Non-Queens residents must have a local sponsor.
FAQs
Trainees who successfully complete one of QPTV's workshops are entitled to use the equipment in the particular area of certification (e.g. Editing, Studio or EFP).
QPTV collects a small fee for each workshop. QPTV's equipment, studio and channel time are provided to the community free of charge.
Training is offered twice a year during the Spring & Fall. Training lasts ten weeks. Classes meet once a week. Each session is three hours long.
Training is provided to all bona-fide residents of Queens who are 18 years of age or older. Applicants must show proof of Queens residency and/or be a staff member of a 501 (c)3 organization based in Queens.

QPTV provides an "in kind" Grant-Aid Program for non-profit 501(C)3 Queens based organizations in need of
assistance to produce their program.

Yes, To use QPTV training, equipment, facilities or channel space you must be 18 years of age or older.
For safety and security reasons, no one under 14 years of age is allowed on QPTV premises unless
supervised.
