Do I need training to get a show on QPTV?
What happens after training?
Trainees who successfully complete one of QPTV's workshops are entitled to use the equipment in the particular area of certification (e.g. Editing, Studio or EFP).
Is there a fee for training?
QPTV collects a small fee for each workshop. QPTV's equipment, studio and channel time are provided to the community free of charge.
How often is training given & how long does it take?
Training is offered twice a year during the Spring & Fall. Training lasts ten weeks. Classes meet once a week. Each session is three hours long.
Who is eligible to take the training?
Training is provided to all bona-fide residents of Queens who are 18 years of age or older. Applicants must show proof of Queens residency and/or be a staff member of a 501 (c)3 organization based in Queens.

Can QPTV tape our event? Can I hire QPTV to make a program for me?
QPTV provides an "in kind" Grant-Aid Program for non-profit 501(C)3 Queens based organizations in need of
assistance to produce their program.

Outreach Department.

Will QPTV censor my program?
Queens Public Communications Corporation (QPTV) is not to be considered a censor of any program
material.
QPTV's only obligation is to insure that all local, State and Federal laws are respected regarding programs
shown on the access channels.

Is there an age limit for submissions?
Yes, To use QPTV training, equipment, facilities or channel space you must be 18 years of age or older.
For safety and security reasons, no one under 14 years of age is allowed on QPTV premises unless
supervised.
