WALTER B. SYSAK (1955 – 2011)

We can not tell the precise moment when a friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one that makes the heart run over." - Dr. Samuel Johnson
Walter arrived at QPTV in the Summer of 2007 after a long and successful career in broadcast television. From 1981 to 1995 Walter worked as a Maintenance Engineer for NBC TV. During that time he was honored with two Prime Time Emmy Awards for the work he did for Saturday Night Live. He also served as the Engineer in Charge (E.I.C.) for both NewSport, a division of Cablevision and for the Bexel Corporation.
Walter was a fountain of wisdom not only on the subject of electronics, production and engineering he was also an aficionado of Japanese Animation and gourmet cooking. In fact his knowledge of things was so vast that he was quickly dubbed the Obi Wan Kenobi of QPTV. But when we realized that Walter’s knowledge had no limits he was crowned Yoda, Master of all Jedi.
Walter possessed patience in abundance and a wonderful disposition; working with him was always a pleasure. He approached every project with the same degree of professionalism; from million dollar broadcasts to independent community productions Walter always gave his best. We at QPTV were happy that he found a home among us.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Walter’s family and friends . May he rest in peace as he makes his final journey to that “undiscovered country from whose bourne no traveler returns.”
