Queens Public Television is a non-profit organization in the borough of Queens. We offer various services to the community. One of those services is our Student Internship Program.

We are interviewing interns for the following semesters: 2010 fall semester and 2011 winter and spring semesters. Please refer interns that major in Television, Film, Media, Communications, Journalism and or Information Technology. We will only consider students that can receive school credit. We are conducting immediate interviews for all semesters. Please forward all resumes to communitydevelopment@qptv.org.

Note: All applicants should have a recommendation from their respective internship coordinator, also please note this is a FOR CREDIT internship, an applicant will be accepted on this condition as well as the ability to fulfill the following:
We require an attendance of approximately 15 hours per week, for approximately 12 weeks. Interns receive a $300.00 stipend after they complete the minimum 180-hour prerequisite.

Should your schedule be different than ours, we will accommodate the student within your guidelines. Please forward those requirements to us if you are interested in participating in our program.

The internship program at QPTV enables the student to get a “hands on” opportunity in TV Production. On various days, the interns will rotate their schedule in the areas of:
Studio Operations
Basic Editing
Equipment Room Procedures
On-Air “Playback Operations”
Studio & On-Site Hands on Training
Computer Programming
Clerical Duties
